25th April 2004 - The success of the debut Casbah Club tour (see below) has been phenomenal. The set was made up of some of the very best Big Country, The Silencers and Jam tunes, including Town Called Malice, Butterfly Collector, Tube Station, Going Underground and That's Entertainment. Just to hear those bass lines played properly, for the first time in 23 years, was worth the entrance fee alone. Highly recommended. Reviews here

26th October 2003 - Unfortunately the story in yesterday's News Of The World about The Jam playing 5 nights at Knebworth next year just isn't true. If you read the note I wrote two weeks ago ( below ) you can see where they got their idea from but it isn't true. The event's organiser at Knebworth House has even emailed to find out if it there is any truth in it - and they should know!
Two weeks ago I wrote what might happen IF The Jam reformed, not that they are reforming, and I think that is reasonably clear. Although - as I have always said, never say never.
12th October 2003 - The story going around that The Jam are reforming and that Bruce and Paul have put their differences behind them are not true. What is true is that Bruce and Paul never fell out in the first place and therefore haven't got any differences, as Bruce explains in his Foreword to the new book The Jam - Sounds From The Street. What is also true is Paul has been talking to friends about how to contact Bruce for a few beers, but that is as far as it goes at the moment.
Should The Jam ever reform and re-record there is no doubt that simple act alone would cement the band in rock history as one of the greatest of all time. Albums would be instant number ones and The Jam are the only band who could sell out Knebworth five nights running, setting records all round. ( Never mind Oasis or Robbie Williams ) No other band could achieve that and nor can Paul as a solo artist, so who knows whether the rumour might become true in the future. If Paul is ever going to earn the status as an artist he undoubtedly deserves there is only one thing for it. And I for one have never ruled that out.
1st October 2003 - A new Jam book is due out this month.( 31st October ) Sounds From The Street. An authoritative chronology of The Jam's career weaves around an in depth study of the band's entire musical legacy, including all the pre Polydor recordings and 3 previously unknown Jam tracks from 1980. Featuring exclusive contribution from Bruce Foxton and is already regarded as the definitive account. It tells the inside story of one of Britain's best loved groups. Published by Reynolds & Hearns in October 2003.
14th October 2003 Bruce is Jamming again - For the first time in 21 years Bruce Foxton will be playing Jam tunes when he joins Three Men and Black for a mini acoustic tour in November.

11th May 2003 -Bruce Foxton back in the studio with Stiff Little Fingers - New album out this summer on EMI. UK & US Tour to follow.
8th May 2003 - We're back. As you all know the website has been missing for a few weeks thanks to the bizarre attitude of our former ISP Virtual Internet of Kings Road, London. It was largely due to the odd Kathy Newland who seems to be way out of her depth as part of the human race, let alone working in IT finance & accounting. Kathy tried to charge us in excess of £1500 for services with Virtual Internet we never asked for or used. It has taken her nearly a year to even look into the overcharging and when she did found she had to remove over £1000 at a stroke, but still insisted on charging us over £500 for what amounted to a domain renewal ( £30 ) and one years hosting ( £110 ) which we declined to take up, preferring to move our domains to a more sociable and better organised company. However, the hapless Kathy Newlands chose instead not to properly explain these charges and take the website down in an attempt to force us to concede. She then failed to reply to our 40 ( that's Four O ) attempts to resolve the problem so we turned to Network Solutions in America who agreed immediately that Virtual Internet were not behaving in a proper manner and arbitrarily removed our site from their servers enabling us to join a properly run company.
The bizarre part though is this. Whilst we all assumed Kathy Newlands is a frustrated clerk with delusions of authority and influence, it appears she is fully supported by her boss Mike Gordon, who clearly has no influence or control over her and by his boss, the guy who owns the company Jason Drummond who clearly doesn't give a toss about anyone. Collectively their actions have so far cost them over forty accounts of friends and colleagues of ours, although this will be lost on Kathy who hasn't mastered the basic principle of manners yet, let alone economics.Luckily for everyone these chancer's are not above the governing bodies or the Law, as they are sure to find out.
Welcome back. - Graham Willmott May 2003.
8th March 2003 - Bruce Foxton has been asked to join Dead Men Walking for an acoustic tour this year. He is asking Jam fans to email in the songs you would like to see him do ( for the first time in 20 years ) with Mike, Glen & Kirk. email suggestions here

9th September 2002. Weller wins Muso's Muso award. PDF download details here ( thanks to Excess Press )9th September 2002 - How refreshing it is to see Paul Weller straight in at Number 7 with his new single 'It's Written in the Stars' and sharing the spotlight with such luminaries as Darius, Abs, Ms Dynamite & N-Trance. Atomic Kitten remain a Number One with their complete desecration of the Blondie classic The Tide is High. What company the great man keeps these days. Hear a clip here
9th September 2002. - Blur's Graham Coxon being interviewed in this months NME, was asked about a song title on his new album. "There's a song on the album called 'Big Bird'. It's not about the 'Sesame Street' character. And The Jam did a song called 'Big Bird' on 'The Gift' . But it's not that, it's a new big bird song. It's about big birds, not derogatory comments about women either. Concordes or phoenixs. Or rocs, the Sinbad bird. It's 'cos of the crow connection, I seem to have this obsession with crows. The great big ominous omnitudunalality of the crow which I see as symbolic and all the darkness." Seems to have fallen out of his tree...!!!

Bruce Foxton's Stiff Little Fingers March UK tour is now underway, with the first show in Manchester Friday night. Attendee Paul Russell wrote, "The 1st gig of the tour kicked off in Manchester last night... and it was superb!!!!, A number of fans said it was the best gig ever, Fingers were brill, the crowd were really enjoying the whole thing, and at the end Derek Russell, a huge fan of SLF, changed the usual chant of "Fingers" and got everyone singing happy birthday to the boys!"
Some of you may have checked http://www.aloud.com recently and seen that they were sold out of tickets on some shows. They've received another allotment of tickets, so check again if you still need some. To our knowledge, there are still tickets available for all shows on this tour, though they're going fast!
If any of you are planning on attending the SLF gig in Newcastle-upon-Tyne on March 18th and are looking for somewhere to stay, Jake would like to shamelessly plug his friend's newly acquired hotel !! It's the "Chirt on House Hotel" at: 46, Clifton Rd, and their reservations number is: ( 0191 )-273-0407.
